Compost Literacy Book Discussion: Cows Save the Planet

As a way to prepare for the July 1 landfill ban on food scraps and celebrate International Compost Awareness Week, CAV member Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District/Lamoille Soil is partnering with local libraries to discuss Cows Save the Planet by Vermont author Judith Schwartz. Journalist Judith D. Schwartz looks at soil as a crucible for many of our overlapping environmental, economic, and social crises. She challenges conventional thinking about global warming by highlighting the need for disturbance and moderate grazing for a grassland to be healthy.
