Free Virtual Roundtable Discussion: Soil Builders - Next Steps

Throughout the Soil Builders program, we've been talking about the connections between compost, soil health, and water quality; different kinds of compost; and best management practices based on different applications.

Now that we know there are different composts for different "jobs" - where do we source the compost and engineered soils needed? Are they available locally? Regionally?

Join this (free) online roundtable discussion to:

1. Learn what types of compost and engineered soils are currently available,

2. Talk through the steps required to successfully connect the dots between organics diversion all the way to implementation of best management practices, and

3. Identify what's needed to use more compost and compost-based products in projects, so we can collectively reap the desired benefits of improved soil health and water quality in the Lake Champlain Basin.

This is part of a series of interactive Soil Builders Workshops where you can:

1. Gain a deeper understanding of the connections between soil health & water quality.

2. Increase your technical know-how about compost, including specific compost Best Management Practices for a wide range of interventions.

3. Learn how to support change of practice for road construction, development projects, stormwater control & site remediation.

Organized by the Composting Association of Vermont, the Soil Builders Project is funded wholly by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under assistance agreement (LC00A00605) to New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission in partnership with the Lake Champlain Basin Program.
